Her journey as a labor doula began with training through DONA International—the gold standard in doula education—ensuring she brings evidence-based, client-centered support to every birthing person she serves. She then completed a rigorous certification process, which includes more comprehensive training, adhering to specific professional standards, ethical guidelines, and committment to ongoing education. Certified Doulas have a wealth of experience, having attended many births with diverse families and situations to allow her to offer tailored support that meets your unique needs and preferences and navigate challenges with confidence. Alyssa's background in psychology, with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix, strengthens her ability to offer emotional support, trauma-informed care, and mental health awareness to new parents navigating the challenges of birth and early parenthood.
Beyond birth work and parental coaching, Alyssa's additional certifications and experiences enhance her ability to create a safe, informed, and prepared environment for families while watching their children or providing in-home postpartum care.
